Peter Poirier, guitarist, vocalist, musician dedicated to classic 1950’s Blues.
My records are my bio. I would much rather talk about my love of music. Being a music fan is a bigger blessing than being a musician. Listening to records and watching others perform is endlessly fascinating to me. It brings me much joy and I spend a lot of my free time doing it. I was given some Beatles 45s when I was 4 or 5 years old and I was off and running. I grew up in the golden age of American popular music, a truly amazing time. Being able to play music is a gift. When I learn or write a song it is mine forever. That is an incredible feeling. I am deeply grateful to be a working musician. I started my first blues band in 1992 and I’m fortunate to have performed with many of New England’s finest musicians. I consider myself primarily a blues musician. I’m completely drawn to the blues music created when it was the popular music of its day (late 1940s – early 1960s). I like simple swinging music that makes a statement, and musicians that have something say and say it!
